Phrase
A group of words which gives the meaning but not complete meaning is called Phrase or a combination of words that make sense but not complete sense.
• One way to define a phrase is to say it is a group of words that "belong together" in terms of meaning but do not have both a subject and a verb.
• e.g:
• At the air port, In the hall, In the dead of night
• Type of phrases:
• The Noun Phrase
• Prepositional Phrase
• The Adjective phrase
• The Adverb Phrase
The Verb phrase.
• The infinitive Phrase
• The Gerund Phrase
• The Participle Phrase
• Absolute Phrase.
